This site
This site is a set of static files built from the public jumplink.github.io repository. It has no accounts, no forms, no comments and no newsletter, so it collects nothing you type. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or tracking service and loads no fonts, scripts or images from other servers. The blog's Atom feeds are static files too.
Hosting on GitHub Pages
The site is served by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. On every request your browser sends GitHub's servers the data any web request needs, including your IP address, date and time, the requested address, the referrer and the user agent. GitHub logs and stores every visitor's IP address for security purposes, whether or not you are signed in to GitHub. I have no access to these logs.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest is to deliver the site reliably and securely. The data may be processed in the USA. GitHub is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Details are in GitHub's privacy statement.
Light and dark
If you click the sun or the moon, your browser remembers the chosen scheme in its local storage (localStorage, key scheme). The value never leaves your browser and is sent to no one. It is strictly necessary for a function you explicitly asked for (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Clicking back to the system setting deletes it; you can also remove it through your browser's site data.
Linked sites
The apps and profiles linked from here have their own sites and their own privacy statements. Data reaches their operators only once you follow a link.
Contact
If you write to me by email, I use your address and message only to answer you and keep them as long as the conversation needs them (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). An email to me is enough. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); mine is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony.
